Default how do I keep words or numbers together on the same line (ie: ph#'

I am typing a paragraph and forgot how to keep certain words together. For
example:

my line would read 314-567-
1234

but I want it to keep the phone number together. Does this make sense?

Press Ctrl+Shift+Hyphen to insert a nonbreaking hyphen, Ctrl+Shift+Spacebar
to insert a nonbreaking space.

you need a nonbreaking hyphen: ctrl-_ (underscore) or Tools-Insert-Symbol
