Default How do I undo changes made to a Word documents?

I accidentaly saved a word document on top of an older word document, and I
have now lost the (very important) info that was on the old document... I
there a way of looking at the history of a document in order to retrieve the
original info that was in my original document? I hope this is clear...
Many thanks
