I recently bought a new system with Win7 Home Premium and Word 2007. I copied
all of my address files (.doc) over to the new system. I notice that when I open one of these .doc files and change it I cannot save it back to the same filename. The Save As dialog box repeatedly pops up until I either cancel the save or save the document with a different name. I can always save the document with a different name and then delete the original file and rename the newly saved file. Once the file is changed I have no problem changing that file again and saving it. This only happens on the first attempt at modification. I have about 100 address files and can reproduce this every time. I open the file by navigating to the folder that contains the address files and double-clicking the file to bring up Word 2007. The same thing happens if I start Word first and use File-Open to open the address file. |
