Jehan, I use Office Pro 2003. This is what I do:
On the first page that you want numbered "i, ii, iii" etc. 1. Click on Insert, Page Numbers. 2. In Page Numbers screen: - Check "Show numbers on first page". - Click on "Format" button. 3. In Page Number Format screen: - At "Number format" , use the drop down menu to select "i, ii, iii" - At "Page numbering": Click "Start at"; it should show "i" (use drop down to select if it doesn't). 4. Click OK twice to return to your document. To begin pages with numbers "1, 2, 3": 1. Click on Insert, Break. 2. In Break screen, select "Page Break", click OK to return to your document. 3. Follow the page numbering instructions above. 4. Except when in the format screen: - Change the "Number format" to "1,2,3". - Make sure the "Start at" shows "1" (change it if it doesn't). 5. Click OK twice to return to your document. Hope this helps ... Good luck with your thesis!
