The watermark is anchored in the header. I'm guessing there's now a First
Page Header, which doesn't have a watermark, but the regular header does. View | Header Footer. Go to second page. Put cursor in Header. With the cursor in the header, you should be able to select and delete the watermark. If that doesn't work, you need to state Word version, and be explicit about what you have already tried, and say how the watermark was created in the first place.
