I am using Word 2003 but this edition does not have the software to check
the grammar and spelling of German texts. Is there anywhere I can download an
update so that Word 2003 will be able to do so?

German proofing tools are included with the following language
versions of Office 2003: Bulgarian, Croatian, Czech, Danish,
Estonian, Finnish, French, German, Greek, Hungarian, Italian,
Latvian, Lithuanian, Norwegian, Polish, Slovenian, Swedish, and
Turkish.

If you have one of these language versions, then you can install
the German proofing tools from your Office CD.

If you don't have one of these language versions, then you can
purchase the Office 2003 Proofing Tools CD and install German
proofing tools from that. See
