Hi, I have a .tmp file that I am trying to open (I lost my original work when
WORD crashed). When I try to open it, WORD prompts me with a File Conversion window and it just looks like gibberish. Is there a way to view .tmp files or decode them? Thanks, PML |

tmp files are not necessarily copies of the documents they belong to. If
Word crashed and you don't have save autorecovery information active (or it hasn't saved the autorecovery information) and you have not been regularly saving the document and have no backups, then you are out of luck. To avoid this problem in the future see http://www.gmayor.com/automatically_backup.htm -- Graham Mayor - Word MVP My web site www.gmayor.com Word MVP web site http://word.mvps.org PML wrote: Hi, I have a .tmp file that I am trying to open (I lost my original work when WORD crashed).
