Default speech recognition

I have Office 2003 and WIndows XP SP2. I want to use speech recognition in
Word but it doesn't seem to be available for English (UK). Is this correct? I
tried to set it up but I got an error message saying that it did not
recognise the keyboard (presumably because it's configured to be English UK)

Correct. It only works when setup for US English.
