I'm using Excel and Word 2002 and have used mail merge quite a bit. Having a
problem today - whenever I merge my document the merged information shows up in a different font and is bolded and larger than the rest of the text. I've tried highlighting and changing font and nothing happens. Any ideas? -- KP |

Use Alt+F9 to toggle on the field codes and add a \* charformat switch
inside the } and the apply the desired formatting to the M of MERGEFIELD. Then, toggle off the display of the field codes and execute the merge. -- Hope this helps. Hi Doug,
I must be doing this wrong because I got an error message which says "Error! Switch argument not specified." Here is what my field code looks like: { MERGEFIELD "Amount" \* }. If I understand your directions correctly, I also highlighted the M in Mergefield and clicked on Format, Font and selected Bookman Old Style, Normal, Size 11. Sorry for the confusion. This is a new problem for me and I'm not used to working with the field codes. Thanks. -- KP "Doug Robbins - Word MVP" wrote: Use Alt+F9 to toggle on the field codes and add a \* charformat switch inside the } and the apply the desired formatting to the M of MERGEFIELD. It should read { MERGEFIELD "Amount" \* Charformat}
and not { MERGEFIELD "Amount" \* } -- Graham Mayor - Word MVP My web site www.gmayor.com Word MVP web site http://word.mvps.org KP wrote: Hi Doug, I must be doing this wrong because I got an error message which says "Error!
