![]() "Dan V." wrote in message ... I can not seem to get ms word 2000 to accept an access 2002 as a data source for a mail merge? I get the error. " Word could not re-establish a DDE connection to Microsoft Access to complete the current task". Any help is appreciated. Thank you. It appears that the answer is as follows from experts-exchange: " Microsoft have virtually abandoned DDE. I don't have Word 97 installed to see if the following applies, but in Word 2000 it is possible to change to OBDC. When you go to select the data source, there is a checkbox labelled 'Select method' at the bottom of the Open Data Source window. If that is ticked you get a Confirm Data Source window with DDE and ODBC. If you choose ODBC, you won't get that error - though you could get a different and hopefully more informative message. " |
