Hi Jannimac,
I was away last week... basically, i don't want to track changes, and don't want markup highlighted. I tried 'unchecking' it under the Security options, but when i close and then restart Word, it is on! If, as you say, that Microsoft has made it a default, then i guess i am stuck with it! If you don't want to use markup, then you need to make sure that the actual change tracking is turned off. Is it? (Make sure Tools/Track Changes is NOT active.) Once you have it turned off, when you create a new document, save, close, then open it again nothing to do with change tracking should appear. As for the option not sticking: there could be two reasons for this: - you're working on a system (administered network) where you're not allowed to make this change - the DATA key in the Registry may be damaged (and is thus not saving the setting) Cindy Meister INTER-Solutions, Switzerland http://homepage.swissonline.ch/cindymeister (last update Jun 8 2004) http://www.word.mvps.org This reply is posted in the Newsgroup; please post any follow question or reply in the newsgroup and not by e-mail :-) |
