Default missing file extension in word 2003-word.Addn.8?

A .wll (Windows Link Library) is an add-in; it's usually called by a .dot
file in Word's Startup folder.

No, I don't know how to open in safe mode, but what kind of file extension

is
*.wll.? Word files usually have either *.doc or *.dot extensions. Are

there
two periods in your file name? That might be confusing the program.

Fred Tried your suggestion no go. the exact warning message I get

"Word.Addn.8")

It was suggested to me to open my word program in safe mode ,i.e.

word
safe mode not windows safe mode. Buit I don't know how to do that. Canm

Are the file extensions "missing" or are they just hidden? Go to your
desktop and open a folder. (My Documents will work well.) Then click

on
Tools - Folder Options - View. Make sure that "Hide extensions for

known
file types" is unchecked. That should show them.

Fred

P.S. If this post helped you, please click Yes on the question "Did

this
