Word 2003 under WinXP
I've gotten quite used to using F4 to repeat the last action, especially editing actions. I've recently upgraded to WinXP from Win2000. Now when I try to use F4, I get a new document instead of the old functionality? Does anyone know why, and how to fix? Thx. TomS |

This sounds more like you may have a template Add-in with this assigment... If you hold down Ctrl in order to start Word in Safe Mode does F4 behave differently? I started Word in safe mode, but F4 still gives me a new document.
The only add-ins I have are for Palm software (which I've had before, never a problem) and for a Brother P-Touch printer (ditto--no previous problem). Is there a way I can just change the key assignment, or is something else likely to be interfering? And thanks for your quick response. I just found the problem--a new microsoft keyboard was intercepting normal
commands and replacing them with commands it thought I would prefer. I've fixed it. Thanks again for your speedy reply; sorry for the bother.
