Once the files are on the CR-ROM, they stay Read Only. If you copy them
over to another hard drive (computer), you can go into Windows Explorer, select all of the files in a folder, right-click and select "Properties", then uncheck the "Read Only" attribute. CD's are designed to write to once and when closed out to read on other computers, set as Read Only (since you can't write to them again). By the way, NEVER save files from within Word to a CD! Always save to a hard drive then copy them over using Windows Explorer or My Computer. -- Bill Foley, Microsoft MVP (PowerPoint) Microsoft Office Specialist Master Instructor - XP www.pttinc.com Check out PPT FAQs at: http://www.rdpslides.com/pptfaq/ Check out Word FAQs at: http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/General/index.htm "David P Wadsworth" David P wrote in message ... After saving files to cd-rom, I am unable to alter File/Folder properties from READ ONLY. |
