Default Cross Reference

Does anybody knows how can I call a reference using a different identifier
than the one used in the object?

Like "As it is presented in Figure 1..."

In the text I need "Figure 1" but under the pictures I need "Fig. 1."

Default Cross Reference

Word cross-references make use of hidden bookmarks. There are two
work-arounds available: You can redefine the hidden bookmark, so that
it doesn't include the caption label (see
http://sbarnhill.mvps.org/WordFAQs/CombineXrefs.htm), or you can
insert a manual bookmark (via Insert | Bookmark) and cross-reference
it separately, via the Bookmark category in the Cross-reference dialog
box.
