I have put in a post about this but no one has responded. When using
Word2003 mail merge and using data formatted in Access2003 as currency, there is a serious issue where numbers are changed when the merged field is formatted as currency in Word. In a real employee database of about 250 employees the error shows up in about 10% of the data. I can create a brand new database with only 8 records, 6 having the same troublesome numbers and 2 other numbers. It does come across as 6 errors and 2 correct. If I use the older DDE method and let formatting come across, all entries are correct. Examples of salary causing problems: 2258.80 becomes $2266.00. 1535,90 becomes 1544.00.and 1777.60 becomes $1783.00 All have .00 as last numbers in Word. Correct ones are 1335.04, 1811.75. This can be a serious complication when sending out employment offers with incorrect salary numbers. USE DDE!! I can send an example database if anyone is interested. |
