A little background: We have through a group policy set the Reading Layout
view to be turned off in Word 2003. However, when opening a Word attachment to an e-mail, the attachment opens in the Reading Layout view. I know that this can be turned off (under Tools/Options/General and deselecting Allow starting in Reading Layout). My question is this: is there a Registry setting that will turn off the Reading Layout view when opening an e-mail attachment in Word without the user having to manually deselect it? |

No - what views users employ is a matter for them. You would do better
training users not to open documents directly from e-mails. This leads to the loss of work and is a constant theme in these Word forums. It is much better in Office 2007.
