Default I used to be able to highlight a word and delete it by pressing e.

Please can anybody solve this problem? I am no longer able to highlight a
word or phrase in WORD and delete it by pressing enter. I can do it by
highlighting and pressing deplete but its just not as easy as it used to be -
how do I re-activate the original function - I think the problem has occured
from having received documents from lots of people and WORD has just held on
to this!
Thank you

Make sure that the "Typing replaces selected text" option is cleared in
Office button | Word Options, Advanced tab.

If you are using Word 2003, you'll find the option on the Edit tab of Tools
| Options.

But, of course, you should *check* the option, not clear it.

Indeed, either of those suggestions works better than mine... :-)
