Default Scanning into Word

I run Office 2007 Ultimate with WinXP Media Center and a Visioneer 8100
scanner. In Office Toolbox is no scan images, documents or anything like this
( as there was in Office 2003!). The Visioneer scanner also does not
recognize Word 2007 as a program to import data to. Is there a place to
download the program 'Document scanning' for the Toolbox?

I have no clue what you mean by "Office Toolbox", but you might want to take
a look here for one method for inserting a scanned image into Word 2007:

Herb
In Office 2003 was a toolbox with the possibility to scan text or images
directly into Word. In Power Point was the command to scan a picture directly
into a presentation. Thi made it easy and simple. The book, Using Microsot
Office 2007, states on page 85 ( incorrectly!): 'You'll find the Document
Scanning program in the Microsoft Office Tools group!' I had a look at your
link but can not find the command: InsertImagerScan under All Commands!?!

Thanks Herb, works fine.

I have Apple Isight and it picks that up with your macro in WinXP Office
2007(Intel Mac). I don't have a scanner or diigtal camera attached.
I've been using Isight via Paint program.

Default Scanning into Word

Me again, I run 2003 and 2007 and WinXP Prof.

I just went to Programs MSOffice MSOffice Tools and I have option for
SCANNING - but it is reading this option from 2003 and proceeded to open the
program for me. I only had 2007 open. It comes up with a box select preset
for scanning Black and White, Colour Grayscale

So if you still have 2003 you could use that feature.

Are you sure you looked in the right location? InsertImagerScan is NOT
listed in the Quick Access Toolbar commands. It's listed only in the
Customize Keyboard commands.

I looked at the right place, because I followed the instructions you have
stated. I know that Windows Vista has an image scanner installed. I shall
thus use my Paperport software.
Thanks,
Peter

Okay. But, Word 2007's list of built-in keyboard commands does include one
named InsertImagerScan. This will show up in Word 2007 in Windows XP and
Vista, regardless of whether a scanner is installed. It's part of the
built-in command set. If you're not seeing it, I'm flummoxed.

Does the macro in Herb's blog (a variation of which you will find at
http://www.gmayor.com/scan_into_word_2007.htm)work? If you don't know how to
employ macro listings, see http://www.gmayor.com/installing_macro.htm
