i am putting together a document that has come figures with mighty
long captions... i do not want all of the caption text in these figures to go into the table of figures... the only way i have found to do this is to use a line break in the middle of the caption... but that just makes the caption look messed up. is there any way to break up a caption so not all of it goes into in the table of figures? I have tried highlighting a potion of the caption and changing the style to "normal" but that doesn't do anything... the full caption still shows up int the table of figures... please help!! |

Did you update the TOF after changing the style? Did you insert a Style
Separator? -- Suzanne S. Yes i did update the TOF but it did not change. I am not sure what
you mean by a "style separator" On Aug 27, 9:32 pm, "Suzanne S. Barnhill" wrote: Did you update the TOF after changing the style? Did you insert a Style Separator? -- Suzanne S. Now I wonder if it is possible to eliminate sections of a caption....
ie a typical caption is " floor-to-floor vibration ratios (markers without lines) superimposed on predicted floor-to-floor vibration ratios output by the mathematical model with optimization (markers with lines)" in the TOF i would want to want to remove the "(markers without lines)" and "(markers with lines)" any ideas? For that sort of situation, I think you're going to be reduced to using TC
fields to dictate the exact text to be included. -- Suzanne S.
