![]() If you give the title "Index" a heading style that is defined in the TOC definition it shd be included in yr TOC. In case you have numbered headings, and want "Index" not numbered, create a style equal to the heading level w/o the number (say "Heading 1 w/o") and assign this to "Index". In the TOC make sure "Heading 1 w/o" is included on the level you want. If this doesnt make sense pls post back with more details (what Word version?) and I'll try to guide you further.
