Do you mean you're seeing unexpected pairs of square, gray brackets in your document? Those may be bookmarks. The bookmarks are normally hidden. You can show or hide them using Tools Options View and checking or clearing the Bookmarks check box. If you really want the bookmarks GONE, not just hidden, you can click Insert Bookmarks, then select the offensive bookmark and click Delete. Be careful, though, Word uses bookmarks for TOC and x-ref purposes. So don't blow up anything important! Bear -- Windows XP, Word 2000 |
