Default MS WORD 8.0

I have recently purchase a new laptop with MS works 8 preloaded (OS = Vista).
I need to have a French spell-checker to work alongside the word processing
program (Word). Does anyone know if the MS download for Office is compatible
with the Work 8 Word programme. if not, any thoughts on a way round eg third
party software, or is it a case of upgrading to MS Word proper? look forward
to hearing from someone.
Thank you

Microsoft Works 8.0 includes a word processing feature, but that feature
is not Microsoft Word.

Thanks for this. Look as though I will have to buy a standalone version of
MS Word.

There are probably better ways to by Word than the standalone package. Check
for deals.

Unless you insist on having Word 2007 (or even 2003), your best bet is to
upgrade to Works Suite, which includes Word 2002 and five other useful
program for less than the cost of standalone Word. See
