Hi Gene
Gene wrote: I have to convert .pdf files into .doc files, and then apply my style to it. Basically I am trying to use a style from a .dot file that I created and saved in C:\Documents and Settings\My Name\application data\Microsoft\Word\Templates I need to be able to use my style in any document. How do I import it into any document already created. and then how can I automate the process? "style" has a very narrow meaning in Word. You probably have at least a couple of styles that define your template. Yours is a pretty classic situation. Usually, it is indeed faster to create a new document based on your template, then bring the old content into this file and "style" it once (apply the correct style paragraph per paragraph). You can use search/replace or, for frequent usage (or if you are a proficient coder in Word), code (VBA) to speed up the restyling, but a fully automated process is not found yet, I reckon. [IOW: the meta-information about what style any given paragraph has to be formatted with is simply not there, certainly not in the typical PDF document.] HTH Robert -- /"\ ASCII Ribbon Campaign | MS \ / | MVP X Against HTML | for / \ in e-mail & news | Word |
