I know you can select words with CTRL+SHIFT+ R/L ARROW, but this
requires that the insertion point be at the beginning/end of the word. Can I use the keyboard to select a word regardless of where the insertion point is within the word? In other words I would like the equivalent of using the mouse to select a word by double-clicking on any part of the word. |

Press F8 twice. Pressing F8 once puts you into Selection Mode. Subsequent
presses of F8 will select text and it's similar to holding shift. To turn off Selection Mode, press ESC. Please post all follow-up questions to the newsgroup. I have never been able to incorporate the Function keys while working at the keyboard; they are just to far away I guess. I did it with a macro. |
