Default Help with merge documents

We just got new computers for an attorneys' office, and all of our merge
documents were in Word Perfect. We now want to move them into Word, but HOW
do you make a merge document, and where do you save it? A lot of the language
is the same, just adding in pertinent information. In Perfect, when we called
up the document, we would hit Alt, Shift and C, and it would automatically
space to where we needed to go to type text. Is there a book with
step-by-step instructions, or can someone, anyone help us? We would
appreciate all the responses we can get asap. Thank you.

Default Help with merge documents

There is nothing in Word comparable to WP's keyboard merge (sadly, as I have
been totally unable to replicate my husband's WP invoice template in Word,
much to his disgust). For more on mail merge in general, see these articles:

How to create a Mail merge
http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/MailMerge/...AMailMerge.htm

Creating a mail merge Data Source
http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/MailMerge/...DataSource.htm

For the keyboard merge, you can use a protected form (see
http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/Customizat...nTheBlanks.htm and especially
the forms tutorials by Dian Chapman that this article links to) or
MacroButton NoMacro fields (see
http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/TblsFldsFm...acroButton.htm) or, where
applicable, AutoTextList fields (see
http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/TblsFldsFms/AutoTextList.htm).

migrants:

My next question is then, can I copy and paste my documents from Perfect to
Word to create a merge document?

Default Help with merge documents

You should be able to just open the WP docs in Word, but the amount of
modification required will depend on what sorts of functions you need to
change or replicate.
