PDF files are not intended to be edited in this manner. If you have the full
version of Outlook you may be able to save the PDF as a Word document and you may be able to extract the data you want, however the only sure method is to use OCR software with all the limitations that type of software has. You can insert 1 page PDFs as Objects if you have Acrobat/Adobe Reader7 or greater. -- Graham Mayor - Word MVP My web site www.gmayor.com Word MVP web site http://word.mvps.org Peter Cumming wrote: I have to do a report and I need to take something fro a PDf file and put it in as an apendix, but I can only copy and paste and that doesn't put it in a table it just sticks it together what can I do? |

I believe Graham meant "full version of Acrobat".

![]() If you hv the ful Adobe Acrbat you can select the table in the pdf. Drag a square around the cells you want to copy, and copy it into Word or Excel. There are also third party tools that do a good job. I like PDF2XL (www.cogniview.com) and it has a trial version with some limitations, but if you only need it for a one time job this may be sufficient. If you don't already have Acrobat, it is a very expensive tool to perform
this type of exercise. I think I would be inclined to use a screen capture tool such as SnagIt to capture and paste the required data into the document. (SnagIt can also create PDF files - and there is a working demo) -- Graham Mayor - Word MVP My web site www.gmayor.com Word MVP web site http://word.mvps.org "Henk57" wrote in message ...
