Default MS Word 2003 Scrunching Text!

I'm using Office 2003 Small Business, and one of our machines is
occassionally having a problem in MS Word. The user types up a document, and
saves it as a normal .doc file.

When typing/saving, the document appears normal. When some files are
re-opened, however, all of the text appears crammed within a single character
on the left-hand side. It's almost as if the right-hand margin has been way
overextended.

The document appears fine if e-mailed to another user, even if the user has
the same default printer. It's specific to one machine, and a handful of
documents. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

According to contributor Bob Buckland: "It's a bug that somehow seems to
have Word misreading temporary files related to the printer currently in
use. You can usually 'unscramble' the display from File=Print and switch
to the printer properties or to another printer then your normal one, or
close Word and delete all files found on Start=Search and looking for
~$*.*;*.tmp as the name string then restarting Word." See also
