If you're using Word's built-in heading styles to create your outline, the
problem is that Headings 1-4 are by default formatted as "Keep with next." Word inserts a page break at the first available opportunity, that is, wherever there's a paragraph *not* formatted as KWN. If you're going to use the headings (and only the headings) to create an outline, remove this property from all the top couple of levels. -- Suzanne S. Barnhill Microsoft MVP (Word) Words into Type Fairhope, Alabama USA "jaygreg" wrote in message ... Using Word 2003. Created a document in outline format, accidently inserted a page break in the middle of the first page and can't remove it. Help instructions tell me to select the break in Normal view then hit delete. I can't select the break. The cursor goes above and below the break but not on the break. When I do hit delete and change the format, as soon as I attempt to doctor it up, it jumps back to the unwanted page break. How do I get rid of that thing? |
