Default Question about text alignment

Help please .. there's probably a simple answer .. but ...

I am typing a form for example
Name__________________________________(I type the line to the end of the
page) .. go to next line
Address________________________________

But for some reason my lines are jagged (not lined up) .. they are just hit
and miss .. I have tried justifying my text .. is there anything else I can
possibly do?

Many thanks! ..

Brenda

Default Question about text alignment

Rather than typing the line, use a Right Aligned Tab which has the
underlined tab leader setup.

Default Question about text alignment

You didn't mention which version of Word.

If you don't have the ruler displayed, you will need to display it. View
Tab for 2007 (or Menu for 2003 and earlier), either click the ruler
checkbox or select the command Ruler.

In the far left hand corner of the ruler, there is a square with a L
displayed (Left Tab). Change the L to an upside down T for a Center tab
by clicking once on the square. Click again for a backwards L which is a
Right Tab.

Now that you have the right tab displayed you can place one on your
ruler by clicking in the lower portion of the ruler where you would like
the tab displayed. For instance, in your description of your form, it
sounded as though you wanted the line to run clear to the end of the
page, so place your cursor near 6.5" at the lower edge of the ruler and
click. (If you don't get a backwards L placed on the ruler, try again
with your mouse pointer just a little lower or higher)

Once you have the tab set on the ruler, you can click and drag it either
left or right to further position it.

Now, are you going to have someone fill out the form by typing on the
line? If so, then press the underline command before you press the Tab
key to jump your cursor to the 6.49" mark.

Another alternative for having a printed line, is to use Tab leaders
which would not require your turning the underline command on and off.
For that, you should be able to double click on the tab mark to display
the Tabs dialog box, where you can select the appropriate tab amount
(6.49") and select the appropriate leader (#4) and click the Set and OK
buttons.
