Default Launching Word 2003

When I click on the short cut to launch Word, it does not fully open on the
screen. It instantly minimizes itself on the task bar and remains closed. I
have to right-click and choose maximize to open it. Is there any way to stop
this from happening?

If you have Word set to run in a Normal window (rather than Minimized), the
likelihood is that it's opening offscreen. Open any other window,
right-click on the Taskbar, and choose Cascade. This should bring the Word
window back in view. Use the mouse to move and size it as desired, then quit
Word. When you restart, the window should open where you left it.
