Hi!
I am using Microsoft Word 2007 in Windows Vista (Business N version). When the €śSave As€ť dialog box opens, by default, a name is selected in the €śFile name:€ť box. However, in my case, when I move the mouse pointer over the name of other files, inside the €śSave As€ť dialog box, the name in the €śFile name:€ť box changes accordingly. What can I do to prevent such behavior? Thanks in advance. mcar |

Does this happen simply by moving the mouse pointer, or are you clicking on
the files in the list? If it's the latter, then this is normal behavior, and you avoid the problem by NOT clicking on the files in the list unless you want a) to save over an existing file or b) use an existing name as a starting point for a new name. If the problem is the former -- simply moving the mouse pointer without clicking -- this is not normal behavior. I would wonder if you have an add-in that's trying to save you a step by selecting what you point at. If so, then the solution is to disable that feature or add-in. -- Herb Tyson MS MVP Author of the Word 2007 Bible Blog: http://word2007bible.herbtyson.com Web: http://www.herbtyson.com "mcar" wrote in message ... Thanks for your help, Herb Tyson.
The problem was the former (simply moving the mouse pointer without clicking). The described behavior had to do with the activation of the option €śSingle-click to open an item (point to select).€ť in Windows Vista (Control Panel Folder Options General). Activating the other option (€śDouble-click to open an item (single-click to select).) prevents the described behavior. Thanks again.
