Default fixing recovered files

i am currently using word 2007, i have saved a document into 2003-97 format,

i have accidentally deleted this from the recycle bin(around the start of
January), i have used a file recovery utility to restore this (last week). I
have opened this document, but i get a message saying that it cannot open
this because of problems with the content.

is there any way i can open this properly & view the document.

By the way, the doc only contains normal text, nothing else

Default fixing recovered files

Hi

So you deleted the file (and thus put it in the recycle bin). And then
you deleted it from the recycle bin. And now you have used a file
recovery utility to try to recover the file. Is that the story?

The chances of getting anything useful out of this file are low. But try
using Notepad (Start All Programs Accessories Notepad, or
something similar depending on your version of Word). Open the file
there and delete the junk you don't need.

Make a backup copy before you start working on this.

Hope this helps.

In Word, bring up the Open dialog. Select the recovered file. Then click the
down arrow on the Open button and choose "Open and Repair".

If that doesn't work, try opening the document in WordPad.

If all else fails, go back to the Open dialog in Word and set the "Files of
type" box to "Recover Text from Any File". You'll get a lot of garbage, but some
or all of the text should be there.
