Hi there, I've just moved from a XP laptop to a new Vista Home Premium one.
I've also installed Office 2007 and installation went fine. My problem is being able to print to my network printer from Word 2007. It's a Brother MFC5440CN and is connected to my wireless router. I've installed the new Vista compatible drivers from the Brother website. My old laptop printed wirelessly without issue, as does all the software on my new Vista laptop. I've tried printing from Access and Excel, Wordpad, Notepad etc and all print fine to the printer but Word does not provide any sort of response by the printer. No data getting through or anything. I've tried repairing my installation of Office but no success. I've checked Brother and MS websites and can't find anything on them about this problem - I wonder if I need to open a port or something in the Windows firewall that Word uses? I'd appreciate any suggestions to solve this tricky problem. A new laptop that can't print from Word isn't much use to me! Many thanks |
