Default manually set headers adn footers

How do I manually set my headers adn footers in 07? I have several pages of
a document and only want headers on a few pages, ie 1,5,6,10. and the footers
will only appear on these same pages however the page number I want to insert
in the footers will not be consecutive, ie 3.7, 3.8, 3.10.1, 3.10.2, 3.11.1,
3.11.2, 3.11.3, 3.12 etc.

The first requirement is to put a section break at the beginning and end of each
page whose header should be different from those on the surrounding pages
(because the same header will appear throughout each section). To do this, put
the cursor at the top of the page, go to the Page Layout ribbon, click the
Breaks button in the Page Setup group, and choose Next Page.

The next thing is to open the header area on one of those pages (by
double-clicking in the header, or by going to the Insert ribbon and clicking
Header and choosing Edit Header at the bottom of the dropdown).

When the cursor is in the header, the Header & Footer Tools ribbon appears.
Click the Link To Previous button to turn it off. (That button will be grayed
out in section 1 because there is no previous section.) Then click the Next
Section button, and turn off Link to Previous there too. Repeat this for each
section where you want to put a page number -- unlink that section and the one
that follows it.

Finally, you can double-click the header of each page that needs a page number,
and just type the number into the header. Use one or two tabs at the start of
the header to position the page number at the center or at the right margin,
according to the preset tab stops.
