![]() Hi all I have a jukebox title card program in Microsoft Word,( it lets you make your own little cards telling you the records you put on a old jukebox ) it has a fixed table background and it lets you add text to each card in the spaces in the tables. I want to make the cards longer, if i grab the corner of the table to expand them, it only expands the text part not the background table. If i grab the background table and expand it the text stays where it is and does not expand with it . Is there a way to merge them both together then expand them both together ? Or is there a way to change the format it is saved in and i could open it up in a photoshop software and expand it in there thanks -- grahamdvd |

See http://www.gmayor.com/convert_labels...mail_merge.htm which will
explain how to extract the data from the table. Create a new table and use it as the basis for a mailing label merge - http://www.gmayor.com/mail_merge_lab...th_word_xp.htm or http://www.gmayor.com/merge_labels_with_word_2007.htm -- Graham Mayor - Word MVP My web site www.gmayor.com Word MVP web site http://word.mvps.org grahamdvd wrote: Hi all I have a jukebox title card program in Microsoft Word,( it lets you make your own little cards telling you the records you put on a old jukebox ) it has a fixed table background and it lets you add text to each card in the spaces in the tables. I can put the songs on them but can not stretch the complete card . Not bothered about the text streching as well as long as it stays on the correct line. thanks -- grahamdvd |

What you have here is a graphic overlaid across a table. It is simple enough
to stretch the graphic. Select the table and cut it to the clipboard (CTRL+X). Select the graphic, right click format object size. Uncheck the 'lock aspect ratio' button then increase the width to (say) 104%. Paste back the table from the clipboard (CTRL+V) then adjust the width of the table to match the graphic. -- Graham Mayor - Word MVP My web site www.gmayor.com Word MVP web site http://word.mvps.org grahamdvd wrote: grahamdvd;2609800 Wrote: Hi all I have a jukebox title card program in Microsoft Word,( it lets you make your own little cards telling you the records you put on a old jukebox ) it has a fixed table background and it lets you add text to each card in the spaces in the tables. ![]() Hi thanks for that ! I got the graphic enlarged, and then pasted the text back over the top, when I try to resize the text table it will not enlarge all of it to cover the enlarged graphic, I pull it one way and the bottom is not covered and then pull it another way ! Is there a way to enlarge the text table so it grows in proportion to the enlarged graphic ? If i pull the top only the top text table grows and its all out of proportion to the graphic ! not sure if that makes sense ! thanks again Graham Mayor;2610629 Wrote: What you have here is a graphic overlaid across a table. You should only need to set the column width - Right click the table table
properties column set the width of each cell to the required amount. -- Graham Mayor - Word MVP My web site www.gmayor.com Word MVP web site http://word.mvps.org grahamdvd wrote: Hi thanks for that ! ![]() Hi thanks again.. nearly there I righted clicked the text table and the properties came up, is there a way as in the graphic to set the height of the total text table in percentage , I made the graphic 120 % but the text properties , seems to let you only set each row or column not the whole table many thanks again Graham Mayor;2611560 Wrote: You should only need to set the column width - Right click the table table properties column set the width of each cell to the required amount. -- Graham Mayor - Word MVP My web site www.gmayor.com Word MVP web site http://word.mvps.org grahamdvd wrote:- Hi thanks for that ! You can set the options for the whole table at once if you select the whole
table. I had assumed that you were only changing the width so you only had two columns to deal with? With the graphic at 120% you would need a column width of about 9.1cm. If you have changed the height of the graphic by 120% then you would need a row height of 'exactly' 1.03cm. 'Exactly' here being the row height option rather than the actual height of the row which would need to be about 1.03cm. -- Graham Mayor - Word MVP My web site www.gmayor.com Word MVP web site http://word.mvps.org grahamdvd wrote: Hi thanks again.. nearly there I righted clicked the text table and the properties came up, is there a way as in the graphic to set the height of the total text table in percentage , I made the graphic 120 % but the text properties , seems to let you only set each row or column not the whole table many thanks again Graham Mayor;2611560 Wrote: You should only need to set the column width - Right click the table table properties column set the width of each cell to the required amount. -- Graham Mayor - Word MVP My web site www.gmayor.com Word MVP web site http://word.mvps.org grahamdvd wrote:- Hi thanks for that !
