Default Printed envelopes have additional character at end of zipcode

A user has a word document (created in Office 2003, now accessed with Office
2007) that contains several names and addresses of contacts. When she goes
to print envelopes from that document, the first letter of the Name also
appears at the end of the zipcode. For example:
Jane Doe
1234 5th Ave
Town, TX 7777J

At first we were getting all funky characters, but we solved that by
changing the font from Calibri to Arial. Now it's just the character at the
end we're having problems with.

I forgot to add in the original post that this is just one user with Office
2007 on an XP machine. I have Office 2007 running on Vista and when I access
the same document, mine prints out fine. This leads me to believe it's a
certain setting on her computer, but danged if I can figure it out. Thanks.
