After I have drawn a line, sometimes I have something after it:

Date:___________________ Federal ID#________________

Now when I typed the date in, the words Federal ID move to the right. Is
there a way to "Lock" the words so they don't move?

Use a one-row table with only certain cell borders turned on. See item 2 in
