Repetitive question again regarding Endnotes:

I got a document wherein the footnotes/endnotes were all inserted in the
earlier version. But in the current version my boss wants the links to work
properly and the information should not show once he gonna keep on that
footnotes and somehow I could not able to trace how did they inserted the
footnotes in the earlier version. Hope this question is quite clear than the
earlier one.

Please guide me
