I have a tablet user who has been doing ink annotations on Word documents
with her students all year with no problems. We're running Word 2004 on Windows XP and she's working in Page Layout view (although I tried working in different views and the problem is consistent across them all). Last night, she started running into the following problem: When she ink annotates on a Word doc. it seems to apply a "wrap text square"-type alignment to the annotation rather than just leaving the ink annotation where she wrote (like it normally does). It's almost like it is treating the annotation like a drawn object or clip art. She's using the correct tool (ink annotation not drawing object). If she double-clicks the annotation object, goes to the text wrapping tab and selects "in front of text" then the annotation aligns the way it is supposed to (and has been by default all year until this started). I've been poking around the Word options, preferences, settings, google and the MS knowledge base and haven't come up with anything so far (this just came up this morning). It's happening across all Word documents regardless if the teacher or a student was the original author of the document. I'm assuming something got corrupted in the normal template file, but I can't figure what to change to make it go back to the way it was supposed to be working. I'm about ready to reimage the whole darn tablet. |
