I had the same problem and after much searching discovered that
the virus scan didn't come from NAV, but from Windows Defender. If you have WD (look in C:\Program Files), then run this command from Start Run: regsvr32 /u "c:\program files\windows defender\mpoav.dll" (do a copy/paste to avoid typing errors). By the way, don't turn off Auto Protect in NAV, just disable the Office Plugin by going to Options Other Miscellaneous deselect Enable Office Plugin. You didn't mention which NAV you have, but in NAV 2005 that is how to get to it. Hth, George "Clueless in Australia" wrote in message ... I am using Word 2000 (on stand alone computer). When I open Word or a document I am getting €˜requesting virus scan. I have read about turning €˜auto protect off in Nortons but Im concerned if I do this that Word attachments received on emails in Outlook Express wont be scanned. When I turn Nortons off (to confirm this is the problem) then open Word or a document it still comes up with €˜requesting virus scan. I have another stand alone computer with same set up and Word doesnt run a virus scan. Appreciate any suggestions. -- Clueless in Australia |
