It isn't actually the American form but it a poorly thought out feature.
Autocomplete for AutoText has been removed from Word 2007, but the built-in AutoComplete for dates remains. All the AutoText Option settings have been removed from the UI, including - as far as I know - the AutoComplete one and the only way I know to switch this off is through VBA: Press: Alt+F11 (open the VBE) Press: Ctrl+G (go to the Immediate Window) Type: Application.DisplayAutoCompleteTips = False Press: Enter (Execute the typed command) Press: Alt+F4 (Exit the VBE) -- Enjoy, Tony "MikeS" wrote in message ... In Word 2007 how do you turn off autocomplete date? Every time I type the year digits eg '2008' Word offers to insert the American form of the digital date, and I don't want it. |
