Need to know the number of words in my manuscript?

Default How do I know the number of words in my document?

If you are using Microsoft Office 2007 you open the document, go to the
review tab, and in the lower right hand corner of the proofing box it has a
button for word count.

....and if you are using Word 2003 or earlier, use the Word Count toolbar. You
can open the toolbar via View Toolbars.

Default How do I know the number of words in my document?

Right click the 2007 status bar and you can select the option to display the
word count there.

Default How do I know the number of words in my document?

And note that, in the list box on the toolbar, you can get all the
statistics displayed in the Tools | Word Count dialog.
