What is the best way of tackling pre printed stationery?
For example our Quotation Form requires customer, address, date, quote no. and site address plus being able to type description and prices etc., all have to be in certain places, having only use Corel wordperfect (which was very easy to set up I have to say) Microsoft is beyond me. HELP! |

HELP! for a start, you might want to take a look at articles for (and from) people who faced the same transition you do now: How Word differs from WordPerfect (by John McGhie) http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/General/WordVsWordPerfect.htm Is there life after »Reveal Codes«? (by Suzanne S. Barnhill) http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/General/RevealCodes.htm And some fundamental structure/template articles: Working with Sections (by Dave Rado) http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/Formatting...thSections.htm Creating a Template €“ The Basics (Part I, by Suzanne Barnhil) http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/Customizat...platePart1.htm Creating a Template (Part II, by John McGhie) http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/Customizat...platePart2.htm Case in point: I usually insert a (borderless) table at the very start of the document (in the body text area), with as many columns and rows as I need for this "stationary" material. Set the table to have fixed widths and esp. row heights. Stuff that is really static can also be placed (in a table or not) in the (first page's) header. Anything that needs to be changed frequently (through the user or automation) is probably better off in the main text area.
