Can't open Word from a file

I'm using Word 2003 and recently it's refused to open when I click on a Word file on my desktop or in documents. I get a message telling me 'Windows cannot find C:\(myname)\desktop\(filename).doc' I can open the file if I load Word first. I've uninstalled Office 2003 completely and reinstalled but the problem is still there. Can anyone help please? |
