I've never been successful in bringing up the Tabs dialog from the ruler
without adding a tab, but if there's one already there and you double-click on it carefully, you can usually succeed in not adding another one, at least! -- Suzanne S. Barnhill Microsoft MVP (Word) Words into Type Fairhope, Alabama USA "Bob Buckland ?:-)" 75214.226(At Beautiful Downtown)compuserve.com wrote in message ... Hi Jay, The bug that Beth mentioned is that going through the paragraph dialog to change the tabs: "the current settings in the Paragraph dialog box are set as the document defaults for the attached template, usually Normal.dotM I addition to using the Alt, O, T keyboard shortcut, double clicking on the ruler will also bring up the dialog (of course it will usually also add a tab g) I haven't checked, but I don't think that was fixed in Service Pack 1. ============ "Jay Freedman" wrote in message ... Thanks to the "steel sieve", I can't remember now exactly what the bug does (something about overwriting the definition of the paragraph style setting in the Normal template with whatever is in the Paragraph dialog). Double-clicking the ruler is probably safe, but I'm not sure. Ask Beth; she's the one who told me about it. I'd look it up on Google Groups, but they're in one of their "can't find anything" moods. :-( -- Jay -- Bob Buckland ?:-) MS Office System Products MVP *Courtesy is not expensive and can pay big dividends* |
