Default Indent all lines of paragraph

When I indent the first line of a paragraph I want all lines in the paragraph
to be indented until I have completed the paragraph, at which time I will
either back-tab to the margin or hit enter to insert blank line - this would
cause a new paragraph to start from the margin. How do I accomplish this?

You apply a hanging indent to the paragraph, either by dragging the Hanging
Indent marker in the ruler or by setting a value for the Hanging Indent
(under Special) in the Paragraph dialog.

If you are not using an indent paragraph style you can press Ctrl + M
(Indent command) at the beginning of your paragraph, then Ctrl + Shift
+ M to take you back to the left margin at the next paragraph.

Sorry, I misread this and thought you wanted *all but* the first line
indented. Cheryl's answer (Ctrl+M, Ctrl+Shift+M) is correct, though you can
also do this from the
ruler. Other options:

1. The best way to handle this is to use an indented style, such as Body
Text Indent, which you can customize as desired. To return to flush left,
apply the Normal or Body Text style.

2. If you have the appropriate option set, Tab will indent the paragraph and
Shift+Tab unindent it. This setting is:

Word 2000 and earlier: Tools | Options | Edit: "Tabs and backspace set
left indent."

Word 2002 and 2003: Tools | AutoCorrect Options | AutoFormat As You
Type: "Set left- and first-indent with tabs and backspaces."

Word 2007: Office Button | Word Options | Proofing | AutoCorrect Options
| AutoFormat As You Type: "Set left- and first-indent with tabs and
backspaces."

FWIW, if you did want a hanging indent, you could also use the shortcuts
Ctrl+T and Ctrl+Shift+T.
