Select the whole document (Ctrl+A). Then go to reviewing ribbon proofing
group set language icon. In the dialog, set the language you want and, the there is a check in the box before "detect language automatically", clear it. Also make sure that none of the styles you use has the language set to other than the variety of English you use. If the problem shows up in new documents, you'll need to do the same thing in normal.dotm. HTH-- Pam Peter de B. Harrington wrote: Hi: I had added some French names to my CV which is a long document in Word 2007 with all updates installed. It keeps recognizing ENGLISH words as French and flagging them as mispelled. I removed French as a language in the Word options. I right click on the word and set the language to English so that when I right click again it shows the word as English. However, when I right click to see the recommend spelling, the French spelling still appears and the English word is flagged as mispelled. I want to prevent this from happening ever again in any document and remove any French recognition from my existing document, but it seems to be a recurring problem in Word 2007. Please help, because I find this to be a rather irritating probleme. Thanks in advance, Pete -- Message posted via http://www.officekb.com |
