start at 1 To do this to every Section in your loooooong document, use a macro containing the following code: Dim i As Long, j As Long With ActiveDocument For i = 1 To .Sections.Count With .Sections(i) For j = 1 To .Headers.Count .Headers(j).PageNumbers.StartingNumber = 1 Next j End With Next i End With -- Hope this helps. Doug Robbins - Word MVP, originally posted via msnews.microsoft.com "Fishy" wrote in message ... I have a looooooong document -- several volumes. I use Style Ref in the Header to pick up Heading Style 4, which is the section number and title for each topic throughout the document. Some of these section topics are contained in only one page; others span several pages. I want to show a page number in the header and I want the numbering to restart with each section heading. To achieve this: Sec. 4.08 -- Offer Defined p. 4.08-1 p. 4.08-2 p. 4.08-3 ... etc. Can somebody help? |
