Hi. My main document and data table are both in Word 2003. I'd like to be
able to open the main document and have the fields automatically populate with the data. Is that possible? |

When you open the main document, it should be populated automatically
with the data in the last record that you selected before you closed the document (more or less). OK - that probably only makes sense if there is only ever one record in your data source, but a. if so, what do you want to happen then? b. if not, i.e. you have multiple records, then in order to achieve anything I'd assume you have to merge to printer, e-mail or a new document. for that to happen automatically you'd need an AutoOpen macro in your Mail Merge Main document. Maybe you could search for further info. on that and post back tomorrow if you don't find anything as I have to dash...
